You probably think I’m crazy for considering this a recipe, but to me it is. Garlic butter is a staple in my fridge, mainly because it contains two things that are in almost every dish I make: garlic and butter. The possibilities are endless! Smear over bread for garlic toast, coat your favorite pasta, pour over chicken before baking, make a delicious sauce to surround any seafood in, or even mix it with a combination of your favorite veggies. All of those options sound delicious, but my favorite way to take advantage of this flavorful sauce is by thinly slicing russet potatoes with a mandolin or sharp knife, put them in a casserole dish and pour  this luscious liquid all over them. Bake it at 425 degrees for 35-45 minutes until the potatoes have softened and started to turn a golden brown. Now let’s get into this recipe.

Garlic Butter

Prep time: 5-10 minutes

1/2 cup butter

3 Tbsp. olive oil

5 cloves garlic

1/4 tsp meat tenderizer seasoning (this offers a nice blend of onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and paprika)

1 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp pepper + more to taste

1/4 tsp salt

3/4 tsp dried parsley

  1. Combine all ingredients in a sauce pan on medium-low heat stirring frequently and cook until melted or put ingredients in a microwave safe bowl and microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring at the end of each 30 seconds, until melted.
