Most of you probably assume that I have a day job and you’d be correct. I don’t make a lot of money from blogging (and it’s not about the money anyway) so in order to make ends meet I have to have a real job. Reading and writing are two of my biggest hobbies, so of course I dedicate time in my week to indulge, let me tell you how I do it.

Scheduling Posts

This feature is an absolute life saver. If you want to be consistent and make sure that you are posting the same time every week, this is the best way to do it. This option also allows you to work ahead and schedule posts as far in advance as you would like. Let’s say you have an idea for a new monthly post about something like MY INTERVIEW TIPS. While you are in the zone of different interview tips go ahead and break them up in to sections and schedule them for a few months in advance. While the “juices are flowing” get those thoughts down on paper so you can make the most of them.

Viewing your various posts in calendar view also allows you to schedule posts for specific events. Let’s say that Christmas is approaching, you can figure out when you are going to discuss a Sugar Cookie recipe or a Gift Guide. Creating holiday or celebration related posts are great informational pieces for your viewers and can prevent you from posting something after it is irrelevant.

Days Off

Make the most of your days off, I know a lot of the times we feel like we are so busy trying to catch up on errands or chores but we all deserve time for ourselves. I do not view blogging as another job, it is a therapeutic process for me. I’m getting thoughts down on paper and in some sense I feel like I am helping people. So on my days off I try to get at least four posts scheduled in advance, this helps me stay at least one week ahead and also calms me down from working all week.
